ADDITION
Addition
Description:
The Addition learning station introduces children
to the fundamental concept of combining two or
more quantities to find a total. Activities here
encourage students to explore addition through
hands-on experiences and visual aids.
-Materials: Addition stations may include
objects for counting, number lines, and colorful
counters. These materials facilitate the
development of basic addition skills, including
simple addition facts and problem-solving.
26
SUBTRACTION
Subtraction:
Description:
At the Subtraction learning station, children learn to
take away or find the difference between two
quantities. This station emphasizes the inverse
relationship between addition and subtraction.
-Materials: Subtraction stations often feature items
like number cards, subtraction flashcards, and story
problems. Children use these materials to practice
subtraction skills, including basic subtraction facts
and understanding subtraction as "taking away."
Multiplication &
Division:
Description:
The Multiplication & Division learning station
introduces more advanced concepts related to
multiplication (repeated addition) and division
MULTIPLICATION
(sharing or grouping). Children explore these
operations through interactive and engaging DIVISION
activities.
-Materials: Materials at this station may include
arrays, multiplication tables, division boards, and
word problems. Children use these tools to grasp the
concepts of multiplication as a shortcut for repeated
addition and division as a way to share or distribute
items equally.
Composing and Decomposing in
Numeracy:
Description:
Composing and decomposing in numeracy
COMPOSING
learning stations focus on breaking down
numbers into smaller parts (decomposing) and DECOMPOSING
combining smaller parts to form larger numbers
(composing).
These activities provide hands-on experiences
using materials like counters, number cards, and
manipulatives, helping students understand the
fundamental principles of addition and
subtraction. Composing and decomposing are
essential skills for building a strong foundation
in mathematics.

1. AK- ALPHABET KNOWLEDGE
AK-Alphabet Knowledge:
Start with the basics! Our Alphabet
Knowledge worksheets provide a solid
foundation for early learners. The content
begins with simple alphabet recognition and
gradually advances, ensuring that learners
can progress at their own pace. The black-
and-white pictures can be colored, adding a
fun element to the learning process.

2. WR-WORD RECOGNITION
WR-Word Recognition:
Building on alphabet knowledge, Word
Recognition worksheets help learners
identify and understand common words.
These worksheets introduce sight words
and phonetic patterns, gradually moving
from simple to more complex vocabulary.
Coloring opportunities are included to
keep learning engaging and enjoyable.

• The numeracy worksheets in the K-3 FELT Program are designed
to cater to students' varying abilities and progress from simple to
complex concepts. They are organized into four categories:
• 1. UN – Understanding Numbers
• 2. A – Number Sense (Addition)
• 3. S – Subtraction
• 4. MD – Multiplication and Division
39
1. UN - Understanding Number:
This category focuses on
building a strong foundational
understanding of numbers. It
likely covers concepts such as
counting, number recognition,
and basic number properties.
2. **A - Number Sense
(Addition):** In this category,
students develop their number
sense and addition skills.
Worksheets start with basic
addition problems and gradually
become more challenging as
students progress.
3. **S - Subtraction:** Building
on addition, this category
introduces subtraction. It begins
with straightforward subtraction
problems and advances to more
complex ones as students
become proficient.
4. **MD - Multiplication and
Division:** This category
introduces students to both
multiplication and division, which
are more advanced mathematical
operations. Worksheets start with
fundamental concepts and
progressively cover more complex
problems in these areas.
