following instructions as it relates to Safety and
Security on the St. Kitts U.D.C compound.

What are instructions?

Instructions are directions or orders that


Safety and Security Officers are guided
by ,in accordance with the Chain of
Command.

The importance of following


instructions.

a. Instructions are from the Chain of Command


and so they should be respected at all times.
b. They are for your own good, because the life
you saved may very well be yours.

c. Instructions are there to make things easier


for everyone.
d. Instructions are always in place for a reason.
e. When instructions are given Officers must
interpret them and when in doubt he/she
should not hesitate to ask a question.

f. The discipline and training to follow


instructions, gives an Officer a focal objective
in a situation where fear or indecision might
otherwise cripple one's ability to think clearly.

The consequences of failing to


follow instructions
a. Would lead to disciplinary action.
b. Failure to follow instructions can be a waste of
time.
c. Failure to follow instructions can be harmful
or even fatal.
