“Your vision your life”

Background information
• Vision and life go together, can sparsely be separated
• As your vision can shape your life, so also your life, especially lifestyle
can shape/impact your vision, either positively or negatively.
• So, we can say, what you are, is what you will be OR What you will be
is what you are – Galatians 6:7-8
• This simply tells us that your vision will be shaped by the content of
your character OR the content of your character will shape your
vision.
Let us pray.
Definitions
• Vision – The dictionary defines vision as “an act of power of anticipating
which will or may come to be”
Vision gives direction and glimpse over your life to make your
goals and purpose become a reality.
In order to understand where you want to be in life, you must have a
clear vision over your life
• Life- is a bigger picture of vision and has many components that make up
what you want your daily life (lifestyle) to look like.
“These departments” may include spiritual connections, family/friends,
health/wellness, mental, emotions/personal growth, love/relationships,
career, finance, business, etc
Vision & Life in the light of the scripture
• Parable of the Rich man – Luke 12: 16-21: Your vision and life must be heavenly focused. You must be
rich towards heaven no matter what your life time vision and ambition must be.
• You must know that it the Lord that makes all things to happen in your favour. Deut. 8:18-19. Do not
allow your vision to becloud your senses so as to forget God
• You need the wisdom of God to excel in your vision of life. Eccl. 7:12, Prob. 2:6, Prob. 2:7 – wisdom of
God will help you achieve our life time goal/ambition.
• God is the owner of all things and you must plug yourself into His plan for your life. Ish.49:16
• You must walk/work as wise and not as fools. Your Christianity should not be taken for foolishness.
Take advantage of opportunities whenever they are presented to you. Eph.5:15-17
• God has given us all that pertains to our vision and life, hence, He expects us to be successful in life. 2
Peter 1:3
• What God wants us to be is what we will be if we allow Him to walk us through life. Ish. 49:16
(tell a little story of your life regarding vision and life)
How to create a vision for your life
1. Begin by asking deep questions, what is this life all about?
2. Focus on issues requiring solutions – be innovative and focused
3. Develop a vision statement – e.g, to be the best IT based solution
hub
4. Work on casting a vision
5. Reverse and re-engineer your vision
6. Avoid distractions and procrastination – they are the killer of
time/vision
7. Know your vision will mature and grow overtime.
