1. Normative Influence- conforming to positive
expectation of others
2. Informational Influence- based on accepting
the information obtained from others as

Persuasion
• the action or fact of
persuading someone
or of being persuaded
to do or believe

Technique
• an influencing technique that
involves an initial outrageous
offer that is designed to fail
followed by a more reasonable
request

Technique
• assumes agreeing to a
small request increases
the likelihood of agreeing
to a second, larger request
