Paper:1 Unit:1=Major Themes of Holy Quran
Theme:3= Allah’s Messengers
Surah Al-Baqara (ayat 30-37)
a)theme:
• The passage from Surah Baqarah describes the most important theme of Quran ; Allah’s
relation with His Messengers and here specifically Allah is telling the story of the creation of
Hazrat Adam and his special status of prophethood
• The acknowledgement of the creation of Hazrat Adam and his superiority over all the creations
because of the knowledge was admitted by all the angels except Ibles(satan)
• Out of his jealousy and malice, satan misled H.Adam and his companion Eve so they were
expelled from the paradise as they transgress the limits defined by Allah
• But they recognized their error and prayed for forgiveness; “Our Lord ; we have wronged
ourselves , so if you do not forgive us and have mercy on us ;then surely we are of the losers”
• Allah accepted their pardon; “Then his Lord chose him and turned to him in forgiveness and
guided him”
b)
• the passage from surah Baqara contained very important lessons for muslims as it tells that human
are the most superior creatures of Allah because Allah granted them the ability to acquire
knowledge
• So every person has a very important task assigned by Allah which he has to perform
• Furthermore, the gesture of honouring the first human served by all the angels proved as a test for
Iblees, who despite being present refused to practice
• The act of arrogance and pride is not accepted in Isalm as Holy Prophet(s) said, “he who has in his
heart as much pride as a grain of mustard seed will not enter in paradise”
• the passage also warned us from Satan’s nefarious tactics to mislead human race as he is vowed
enemy of man
• So we have to seek refuge of Allah from satan every time as it is only Allah who can show us the
right path
• Lastly , the passage shows Allah’s love , care and direct relation with every human by listening his
supplications and forgiving his mistakes as Allah says , “indeed My Mercy overcomes My wreath”
• The value of acknowledging errors , the virtues of repenting and the power of supplication is the
essence of the passage
