Titan Submersible Event

Tragedy:

The Titan submersible was designed to allow people

to view the Titanic from up close, it had a top speed
of 3 knots per hour and travelled to a depth of
4,000m but went missing on Sunday , June 18, 2023
& took over 4.5 days for the debris to be found.
There were 5 people on board including a 19-year-
old. They're confirmed dead after it imploded from
the extreme underwater pressure. R.I.P. to them.
Investigation/cause:

Experts noted that a flood or failure of the vessel to withstand water

pressure might have likely caused the implosion. The ill-fated submersible
also used a cheaper material for its hull: carbon fiber. Most submersibles use
titanium, which is more expensive but also stronger
The submarine also chose to make a cylindrical body instead of the usual
spherical shape which allowed more people to fit but were also less effective

certification from any of the organizations that specialize in making sure
deep-diving crafts are safe. OceanGate's CEO, Stockton Rush, said that
certification would hold back innovation, but experts say that testing and
certification are very important for safety.

The Future Of
Ocean Submersibles
This will show how important
safety is and will probably raise
concern over if submarines are
regulated, tested and strong
enough to withstand pressures
equivalent to carrying the Eiffel
Tower.
