What is a Direct Speech ?
• Direct speech:
It is when someone’s exact words are quoted within quotation marks
and it is a direct representation of what someone said.

For Example:
"I am going to the store," said Mariam
What is an InDirect Speech
• Indirect speech:
It is when the reports of what someone said without quoting them
directly. It might involve changes in tenses and pronouns.

• For Example:
• She said that she loved reading.

accurately represents what was said, maintaining the speaker's words
unchanged within quotation marks, helping to improve conversations
skills as they were spoken.
How do we use InDirect Speech in our daily
life ?
• Indirect speech, also known as reported speech, is frequently used in
everyday conversations to relay what someone said without quoting
them directly. For instance, instead of using quotation marks, people
might say, "She said she would arrive soon." It involves rephrasing or
reporting someone's words using appropriate tense changes and
reporting verbs, making it an crucial part of communication.
