ELECTIVE OPERATIONS
1. As recommended by the PSPS, the section will have the following
priority cases for ELECTIVES:
1. Cancer/ tumor surgery
2. Head and Neck Surgery (Sistrunk, Brachial Cleft anomalies)
3. Esophagus, stomach, small bowe (intussusception, pyloromyotomy,
fundoplication)
4. Colon, Rectum, Anus (Hirschsprung disease, correction of imperforate anus,
closure of ostomy)
5. Gallbladder surgery (biliary atresia, choledochal cyst, cholecystectomy)
6. Abdominal wall (Hernia, Testicular cancer)
7. Minimal invasive surgery (EGD, Colonoscopy, PEG)

OUTPATIENT CONSULTS
1.Face to face consult at the outpatient department, every
THURSDAY at 8AM.
• Scheduling of physical consultations done by the fellow
and service rotators (walk in and online platform).
• Patients for surgery are presented to the consultant staff
during the weekly section conferences, and on Friday
elective days.

OUTPATIENT CONSULTS
2. Optimize online consult platform (Facebook messenger),
scheduled every MONDAY and WEDNESDAY, 1 - 5PM.
• Every consult is documented via google sheets (summary
of consults submitted to the hospital every month).
• Consults warranting further physical assessment (as
evaluated by the fellow) are scheduled for face-to-face
consults at the OPD.
