Problem Statement:

The two main problems faced by the stock management officer are:

• How much additional stock of order is required


• When to order the stock.

Our objective here is to minimize the efforts of the stock manager


to continuously monitor the stock position

Here we provided a solution for stock maintenance system where the


manager can handle the stock with ease and in a very reliable way
Vision:
The vision of stock management is to provide an application that is
used to maintain the stock details of a company with ease and in a
reliable way .

Issue Statement :
The stock maintenance system will allow the employee to record
information of the products available in the store and generate report based
on the total amount of sales .The employee will enter the information of
sale, purchase orders, payment details ,cost of into system and create
reports. Employee can only access the information .The employee can update
the new stock detail into the database.

• The software will not be able to connect to the database in the event of the server
being down due to a hardware or software failure.

• The software will be available only to administrator of the organization and the
product as well as customer details will be recorded by him. He can add customers,
update and delete them as well as add new products and manage them.
• The system should have an availability of 99.99%.
Security :
• The security requirements deal with the primary security. The software should be
handled
• only by the administrator and authorized users. Only the administrator has right to
create
• new accounts and generating inventory. Only authorized users can access the system with
• username and password of administrator.

Maintainability :
• Backups for database are available.
• The system shall utilize interchangeable plugins.
• The system shall be easily updateable for fixes and patches.
• The system shall be easy to upgrade.

Portability:
• The Software is a web-based application and is built in JAVA and SQL so it is platform
independent and is independent of operating system.
• The system should be extremely via the usb drive.
• The system shall be easy to migrate or backed up via another use drive.
FEATURES:
• This project “Stock Maintenance System” has been developed for
the computerization of the handling stock of a product.
• This project mainly deals with the items, suppliers, sales, purchase
basis. The project get all the details about the items stock and
how many the product have sold and purchased.
• This makes the manager manage the product easily and can
retrieve the information easily.
• The main goal of this project is to reduce manual works, increase
the processing speed and ensure reliability of data.
• This project “Stock Maintenance System” deals with stock
Management in a concern.
• This project also takes care of maintaining records of all the sales
details, purchase details of the concern.
STIMULUS or RESPONSE:
• The system requests the stock entry staff to specify the function she/he
would like to perform(either Add stock, Update stock, Delete stock and
Generate Report.
• In “Add stock” Once the stock entry clerk provide the requested
information, the system saves the stock and an appropriate message is
displayed.
• In “Update stock” the stock entry operator makes the desired changes to
the stock details and at the same time the database will save the
changes that are made by the stock entry operator.
• In “Delete stock” if the clerk wishes to proceed with the deletion of the
record on click of this the record is deleted from the system.
• In “Report generation” the computed result of a particular product is
displayed.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Stock Management System is a web-based application
developed using Java programming language. The main
objective of this project is to manage a stock for a company
or organization, and take care of sales and purchase of
products. This project includes various modules and features
to add, edit, view and delete stock-management-related
things in the system database.
