inputs are sent to the flight controls
surfaces
• Flight protections are designed to
keep the Airplane inside a safe

• There are 3 laws: Normal,
Alternate, Direct, depending on the
availability of the systems and
possible failures

Cockpit
Preparation
• Flight Deck is divided into different
areas belonging to CM1 CM2 PF or PM,
mainly depending on Company
Procedures.
• Overhead, Fcu, Pedestal are 3 main
panels.
Overhead

• Dark Cockpit Philosophy is


very instinctive, requiring the
PF to Extinguish all white lights
as part of preliminary cockpit
preparation
• As general rule, no lights, no
issues
• When a light is illuminated
AMBER that system require
crew attention
FCU

• Flight Control Unit is the panel


used to interact with AP and
FLIGHT GUIDANCE
Pedestal

• In the Pedestal are located:


• 2 MCDU
• 2 Radio Management Panels and
Transponders
• Efis Control Panel ( ECP)
• Trurst Levers and Engine Start
Switches
• THS
• Flaps and Speedbrakes
• Landing Gear Gravity Extention
• Rudder Trim
• Efis is made by 6 Electronic Displays
EFIS Electronic Flight • 2 Pfd’s and Nd’s
Information System • Lower and upper ecam also known as System Display and
Engine Warning Display
PFD: Primary
Flight Display
• Here we find all Vital
information’s for the Pilot:
• Speed Indicated and Mach
• Heading and Track
• Altitude
• Ivsi
• Qnh
• Autoflight Active and Armed
FMA: Flight Mode
Annunciator

• Top part of PFD is located


the FMA:
• There are 5 columns
indicating the Airplane
Automation Level we are
using in green, and armed
in Blue
• PF must call clearly READ
any FMA changes
Typical FMA during
Take Off
• Man flx is indicating the reduced
thrust which PF insert in the
Mcdu Perf Page
• SRS: Speed reference system
and Rwy are the Active modes
• CLB NAV Blue are the Armed
mode which will follow the
active one
• 1FD2 is Indicating that Both
FMGS are working and active
• Auto Thrust is Armed
Sidestick’s are peculiarity for
Airbus 320F
• Red pushbutton is used to:
• Disengage Autopilot
• Take Priority
