Choose one of the situations below and record a video presenting an excuse for it.
1. You didn’t go to class.
2. You forgot to pay back money you owed to a friend.
3. You get up late for work.
4. You didn’t show up at a party you were invited to.
In all cases, you must make the video pretending to call the person in charge. Mention
information related to the specific situation, reasons why this happened and possible actions
to apologize.
Instructions
1. Record a video clip presenting excuses for one of situations listed. Make sure to say how sorry you
are, the reason(s) for the situation, the possible proof of it, and the proposal to make amends.
2. Your video must be between 40 and 50 seconds long.
3. Upload the video on YouTube or on Drive to generate a shareable link.
4. Copy and paste the link to your video here.
Dear Professor Williams,
I was unable to attend Biology class yesterday (Wednesday, August 30) due
to being under the weather. I understand from a classmate that a handout
regarding the next lab assignment was distributed. The syllabus indicates
that your office hours are between 1:00-3:00pm on Friday. Would you be
available in your office this Friday so I can receive the lab assignment and
ask for clarification on the material presented in class? I appreciate your time
and look forward to speaking with you soon.
