About the Project
1.This study help to find all necessary information to get an
overview of aims to explain the usage and satisfaction on
Google pay and Paytm.
2.Factors that affect the consumer’s decision to adopt Google
Pay and Paytm.
3. To know the convenience and services given by these two
apps.
4. The scope of the study is to find satisfaction level of users on
safety & security , transaction speed, convenience, recharge,
ticket booking, shopping, etc., Which can directly influence on
the consumer satisfaction level.
Objectives of the study
1.To identify the customer preference among Google Pay and
Paytm.
2.To identify the problems faced by the users’ while using Google
pay and Paytm.
3.To study the satisfaction level of the customer using Google
pay and Paytm.
4.To know the factors that influences more users towards online
payments instead of direct payments.
5.To study the most usage and preference of bth the apps.
Limitation of the study
1.Difficulty in data collection due to covid restrictions.
2.This being and academic study suffers from cost and time
constraints.
3.Some of the respondents were reluctant in answering some of
the questions important for the study.
4.The study results are applicable to limited period and the
results and preference may vary after sometime.

• Google Pay, often referred as G Pay is founded on May 26,
2011.
• Starting initially as Google Wallet, the digital payments
platform has changed its name to Android Pay later on
September 11, 2015.
• The app was then launched as Tez before finally settling on
the name Google Pay on August 28, 2018.
• Google Pay serves as a digital wallet-cum-online payment
system developed by Google.
• The Google-powered digital payments platform enables the
users to make contactless payments and purchases online via
android phones, watches and tablets

merchants and online platforms.

the mainstream economy through payments, commerce,

is founded by Vijay Shekhar Sharma and is headquartered in
Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
• Its investors include Softbank, Ant Financial, AGH Holdings,

Research Methodology
Sources of Data
• Primary data: This include users of Google pay and Paytm from whom
information is collected through a well define questionnaire,
• Secondary data: This include the following-Internet,Books,& Magazines
Sample size: A survey has been taken in the form of questionnaire and has
been collected over 60 respondents.
Sampling Method: Convenience sampling was used to select respondents.
Research tools used: The following research tools used for this study with
the help of well define questionnaire.

• INTERPRETATION: Respondents not using online payment in this project are of
the opinion that online payments are not safe due to reasons such that of
fraudulent activities, insecurity, lack of trust, technical issues etc.

• A majority of 50% of respondents are students who use Google
Pay and Paytm.
• Respondents not using online payment in this project are of the
opinion that online payments are not safe due to reasons such
that of fraudulent activities, insecurity, lack of trust, technical
issues etc trust, technical issues etc.
• Google Pay provides more (85%) payment options when
compared to Paytm (15%).
• About 58.3% of respondents trust the security of Online
Banking Services and only a small fraction of 6.7% feel that it’s
not secure. But 35% of respondents are neutral on security
services rendered.
Conclusion
• After analysis and comparison between Google pay and Paytm modes of
electronic payment systems, it is revealed that it is quite difficult, if not
impossible, to suggest that which payment system is best has they differ only
in some minor details.
• Hence this study concludes that success of e-commerce payment systems
depends on consumer preferences, ease of use, cost, authorization, security,
authentication, accessibility and reliability.
• The efforts of using these payment systems are going well by the government
as well as the private sector companies having e-wallets apps such as Google
pay and Paytm.
• The government needs to tackle some challenges on the usage of these apps
to have cashless economy and to give a boost to digital payments to provide
sustainable economic development to the country in the long run .
Recommendations
Google pay
• Need to prevent Payments failing during transactions in google pay.
• Need response in raising disputes and debit of money again in the
account within mentioned time limit in Google pay.
• Must need of better service of help support.
Paytm
• It might be good if the cashbacks and rewards are easy to find and it
has too much options in paytm.
• Must need of better service during crisis in paytm.
• Paytm provider needs to inform about their services on the mass level.
• Paytm providers should made easier in KYC process.
