• It is old as the earth, as old as
human life. When it became a
passion of the outdoorsy and of
the adventuruos-minded, in the
19th century people would
climb just for pleasure, for the
sheer thrill of conquering peaks
near and far.

person who lives in
the high country or
as a climber of
mountains.

Get a sports physical before starting any
new sport.
Always warm up and stretch before
swimming
Take time off from training if they feel
shoulder, neck or other pain. They can try a
different stroke or do something else our of
the pool to stay in shape.

Wear water-resistant sunscreen of
SPF 30 or greater for outdoor
practices and meets.
