We use Simple past tense to talk about things in the past.
We travelled to Rome in 2003.
The past simple (regular verb)
We make the past form of regular verbs by
adding -ed
We played chess at
home yesterday.

Rules of adding -ed
1. just add
'ed';

2. if the words ends in an 'e', just add a
'd';

3. If verb ends in a vowel (u,e,o,a,i)
followed by a consonant (except ‘w’,

Some verbs are irregular. We can’t add –
ed. We have to remember them!

Then change the phrases to “Yesterday, I ” to make
them past tense.
Example, “Just now, I am sinking.” “Yesterday, I sank.”
