ISO 9001:2008
Signal Aspect Meaning
Green: Proceed ( Route is Set & Locked & fully clear)

Violet: Conditional Proceed

For Train running under the authority of fixed signal-Stop
For train running under the authority of cab signal- proceed

Red:- Route is not set and locked or route is set & locked but
first track circuit of the route is occupied or there is a signalling
failure

ISO 9001:2008
Hand Signal

Hand Signal: It is a manual signal used for shunting of work trains in depot or at the
site of work or in extreme emergency in case of failure of cab signal or fixed signal.

ISO 9001:2008
Hand Signal OFF aspect

ISO 9001:2008
Hand Signal ‘ON’ aspect

 Any light other than green or any object

waived violently shall be treated as stop.
 “ STOP” shall be indicated by
 A red lamp
 Raising of both arms above the head
 Waving a white light rapidly from side to side
 A red flag

Track Circuit is an electrical circuit, which is

used to detect the presence of a railway vehicle
on a portion of track.

ISO 9001:2008
SDTC

ISO 9001:2008
SDTC Function

1.To Detect presence of vehicle

on a track
2.To provide path for SACEM
Message (Continuous message)
coming from trackside ATC and
going to train borne ATC for cab
signal generation

ISO 9001:2008
EKT

 Electrical Key Transmitter (EKT) is an electromechanical authorization box which is

located inside SCR to hold the key for point manual operation. The key can be removed
from the box after the Station Controller (SC) gives authorization.

ISO 9001:2008
ASCV
 ASCV or CBI (Computer
Based Interlocking) is an
equipment, which provides
an arrangement between
signaling gears
interconnected by electronic
locking so that signaling
gear operation must take
place in proper sequence to
ensure safety.
