“Farm King” with Lucky Guma is a makeover
reality Television series designed to Empower,
Educate and Inspire millions of people in
Agriculture.

The show focuses on both struggling and
successful farms. The show’s host visits
different farms, meets farmers to learn about
the challenges they’re facing, then interviews
expert guests to provide on-farm technical

advice relevant to the challenges identified.
It will be the first segment that will comprise of
33 comprehensive episodes profiling and
showcasing the exact needs of farmers across
the country.
LUCKY GUMA
Lucky Guma is the founder and C.E.O of Empower East Africa, a
company providing comprehensive agriculture solutions in East
Africa. He has been able to grow the company to a regional entity
with presence in East Africa. Under his guidance, Empower has
become the leading provider of agriculture education, training and
export of fresh fruits and vegetables to Europe, China, UAE and USA.
Lucky has led the implementation of among others, Agriculture
productivity Enhancement, Agro-processing and Value addition,
Market enhancing through promotion of market cooperatives, Farmer
education and Training, and Development of 15 crop specific farming
manuals.
OBJECTIVE
To Inspire and provide know-how to small-scale farmers with
recurrent agricultural challenges to boost quality production, and
find ways to reach decent markets.

The team will visit struggling and successful small-scale farmers
across the country. They will profile the exact needs of these
farmers and provide technical hands-on advice based on their
preferences, interests and location.
Each week, the show’s pleasant host visits a farm that has been
selected and profiled. The team is highly sympathetic to each
farmers’ woes, listening with warmth and compassion. Then,
depending on the issues, the host brings in targeted guests to give
advice.
The presenter will encourage farmers to write to the programme
directors so that they are also given an opportunity to be visited
and advised by the expert. Successful farmers will be given a
platform to take the team through their success stories - the “how
they do it” and perhaps give advice based on their experiences.
In the same show, viewers will be given a short code that they can
text to the programme makers to ask questions and/or to request
a free material on the week’s topics.

Profiling Farmers

across the country, King Farm will deliver tailored services to each
farmer based on their preferences, interests and location.
The profiling will take into account the farmers demographics,
psychographics, enterprises selected and the challenges faced.

system to identify and prioritize key issues, opportunities and options for
change in line with the farmer’s interests. The assessment will combine
analysis of physical and financial benchmarking data with on-farm observation
and a structured discussion with the farm team covering the farmer’s interests
and management practices.
Strengths, weaknesses, risks and opportunities across all components of the
farm will be assessed including location, land size, environment, nature of soils
(soil testing), water sources, current farming methods and infrastructure. The
end result is a comprehensive report and concise action plan providing a

Subject to the farmer’s enterprise i.e crop or animal husbandry, King Farm will
provide hands-on technical advice suitable for the farmers interests. With crop
husbandry, activities will include soil testing, provision of proper seeds and
seed-bed making, trans-planting, weed control approaches, manure
application, spraying, continuous monitoring & evaluation and proper
harvesting.

The team will identify a farmer who has the potential to become a model
farmer. King Farm will then provide full-scale support along the agricultural
value chain to enable the farmer achieve his/her dreams.
Technical and Financial support will be given all through from enterprise
selection to Marketing of products.
Our “King Farm” will be an epicenter from which the surrounding communities
will fetch sound agricultural practices in an impactful fashion.
DURING THE SHOW
For each documented activity on the farm, the guest will validate its
technical implication on overall production through a guided
discussion.
