INTRODUCTION

• Intellecual property refers to the creations of the mind ,such as


inventions ,literary and artistic works ,designs, symbols, names and
pictures used in commerece.
• It is protected by the law to ensure that creatures or owners can control
and benefit from their work.

• Patents
• Trade secrets
• Industrial designs
• Geographical indications
COPY RIGHT

• Copy right provide protection for the original work of authorship in following categories

• Litrerary work; novels ,short stories ,poems ,articles, blogs, essays and other written content.

• Dramatic work; screenplays , plays ,radio scripts and related performances.


• Artistic works; paintings,drawings, sculptures ,photographs ,and other visual art.
• Soft ware and computer programs;ccodes, algorithms,and programs for operating systems and
applications.
• Architectural works;the designs of buildings ,architectural plans ,and blueprints.
• Cinematographic works; Films ,videos,tv shows,documentaries, and animations.
• Databases ;collections of data or other materials that are systematically arranged and can be
individually accessed.

• Trade secrets cover any confidential business information that provides a competitive
edge and must remain undisclosed.
• Formulas;chemical or product formulas ,like the recipe of coca cola.
• Processes; business methods or processes ,such as manufacturing techniquesor supply
chain management strategies.
• Buisness strategies; marketing strategies ,expansion plans, or internal pricing
structures.
• Customer lists; data bases of customers and their purchasing habits.
• Software source code; unpublished software code that drives a company’s technology

INDUSTRIAL DESIGNS

• Industrial designs protect the asthetic features of products,covering


aspects such as;
• Product shape; the distinctive shape of an item , such as the design of
a car or furniture.
• Ornamental patterns; surface patterns or textures applied to product.
• Color combinations;the specific combinations of colors that form part of
product design.
GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATIONS

• Geographical indications are used to identify products that come from a


specific place and possess qualities or reputation due to that origin;
• Food products ; example include champagne [sparkling vine from the
champagne region in France] and parmigiano –Reggiano [cheese from
Italy].
• Handicrafts; crafts associated with specific regions ,such as Kashmir
pashmina or dleft poetry.
• Agriculture products; coffee from Colombia ,or tea from Darjeeling.

• Moral rights ;authors have certain rights over the integrity and
attribution of their work if they don’t allow the copy right no one have
right to copy their content’
• Domain names; The ownership of domain name like google .com can
be considered intellectual property especially when associated with the
brand.
• Performance rights; artists ,actors and musicians have right that how
their performances are used and distributed , such as in concerts or
recordings.
• Rights of publicity; control over the commercial use of a person’s
image, voice ,or signature ,often tied to celebrities or public figures.

• Copy right infringement; unauthorized use of creative works ,such as music ,


literature and software.

permission from the patent holder.

• Public domain ;works no longer protected by copy right ,often due to
expiration or dedication to public use .
