What is HCI
• Human-computer interaction is a discipline concerned with the
design,evaluation and implementation of interactive computing
system for human use and with the study of major phenomena
surrounding them.
• HCI is the study and the practice of usability.
It is about undestanding and creating software and other
technology that people will want to use,will be able to use,and
will find effective when used.

• 1970’s: User Interface,or Man Machine Interface(MMI)

1. Those aspects of the system that the user comes in contact with.
2. An input language for the user,an input language for the machine,and a
protocol for interaction.
