RESTAURANT
MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM
Abstract
 In a restaurant, the traditional hand-waving method for calling waiters is
inefficient often leading to many complaints.

 In many popular restaurants, waiters/waitresses tend to miss out on tables or

customer calls during busy hours potentially decreasing one’s clientele.

 The goal is to design a system in which the customers can order their meals
easily online without calling the waiters.

 This system also allows managers and owners to easily monitor restaurant
functions.
Introduction
 We propose to build software that can efficiently handle and manage various
activities of a restaurant and all these activities will be happening under the
supervision of the administrator.

 The businesses in restaurants are now growing constantly. At the same time, the
need for managing its operations and tasks rises. The best way to optimize these
activities is to grow the business online as well.

 This project serves the best way of maintaining customers’ information and caters
to their needs.
Objectives

 The main objective of the restaurant management system is to make the restaurant
activities like meal ordering, table reservation, etc easy for the customers.

 It also helps the admin to manage the orders, tables, customer information, etc.
Existing system

 Traditionally the method in which customers specify their desired menu to the
waiter who takes the order on paper. Personally, he then takes the order to the
kitchen department and then he supplies the food item to the customer. So, it was a
time-consuming process.

 It leads to wastage of paper and also it requires reprinting of all menu cards.

 Also, in many cases for small changes to be made in menu cards it is not
convenient to print all menu cards again and again.
Proposed System
 Restaurant management system is the system to manage the restaurant
business.

 After successful login the customer can reserve the table according to
the desired time and can also order the meal to the table.

 The main point of developing this system is to help restaurant

administrators manage the restaurant business and help customers with
online table reservations.

 The system can efficiently handle and manage various activities of a

restaurant and all these activities will be happening under the
supervision of the administrator.
