GUIDELINES FOR WORK

IMMERSION
( DEPED ORDER NO. 30, S. 2017 )

WORK IMMERSION
Refers to the subject of the
Senior High School Curriculum,
which involves hands-on
experience or work simulation
in which learners can apply
their competencies and
acquired knowledge.
WORK IMMERSION
Is a requirement for graduation
from the secondary education.
Learners are immersed in actual
work environments such as
workshops, offices and
laboratories in which their prior
training is relevant.
CONDITIONS FOR WORK IMMERSION OF STUDENTS IN WORKPLACES
( Labor Advisory No. 08, S.2016)

1. Duty hours-8:00AM-12:00NN, 1:00-


5:00 PM
2. For students below 15 years old-4
hours/ day
3. SHS students are not allowed for
work immersion in industries and
activities considered as hazardous.

4. Work immersion shall in no case


result in the replacement of or
diminution of benefits of the workers
in the partner enterprise/company.
OBJECTIVES

Work Immersion aims to make the


learners:
1. Appreciate the importance and
application of the principles and
theories learned in school;
2. Enhance their technical knowledge
and skills;
OBJECTIVES

3. Enrich their skills in


communications and human relations;
and
4. Develop good work habits,
attitudes, appreciation and respect
for work.
It is the legal basis for the implementation of Work Immersion in all
Senior High Schools (SHS).
DepEd Order No. 30, s. 2017s
It expressly Prohibits the appearance of any form of institutional
endorsement by the DepEd for any commercial product or service within
the school premises in exchange for SHS-industry partnership.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

1. Partner Institution-are public or


private institutions or organizations
that are able and willing to lend
their expertise and resources.
2. Memorandum of Agreement-is a
legally binding document which
spells out the specific terms and
conditions between parties.

person authorized to seek partnerships
between DEPED and institutions.

Assessment

The Work Immersion Teacher and the


Work Immersion Partner Institution
Supervisor will jointly assess the
learners’ performance.

The Work Immersion Teacher shall


then issue the Final Grade.
