Teaching is one of the most demanding
professions. Teachers are constantly
working to juggle all their tasks of
educating students, managing behavior,
completing administrative tasks, and
more.
The significant contributions of the
teachers in life of the learners are
undeniable. They have all the challenges
they are facing inside the classrooms.
Multicultural • Language barrier

Challenges in Learner-centered
Teaching
• Designs of the classrooms are not appropriate design for
the learner- centered teaching methods.
• Some teachers are in a rush to implement the approach
without a thorough understanding of the principles and a
careful plan of teaching.
• Teachers must try to manage all learners' activities at
once, which can be challenging when learners are working
on different stages of the identical project.
• Because the teacher does not deliver instructions to all
learners at once, some learners may miss vital facts.
• Some learners choose to work alone; thus group work
can become challenging
6 Key Learner-Centered Instructional Strategies:
1.Support Student Voice and Choice
2. Provide Differentiation
3. Foster Collaboration
4. Engage Students in Active or Constructivist Learning

learners.
UNESCO's Four Pillars of
Education
UNESCO, the United Nations, Educational, Scientific and
Cultural Organization has outlined a framework known as
the "Four Pillars of Education".
1. Learning to Know

how a person learn.

- Learning to know means developing one's concentration,
memory skill and ability to think.
- It is a process of continuously learning to develop your
instruments to learn.
2. Learning to Do
- It describes putting knowledge into practice.
- It also involves acquisition of skills and application of
knowledge.
- Teachers must develop these skills to students; social
behavior,
personal initiatives, communication skills, adaptability,
social
responsibility and leadership skills.
- It is anchored with the context of lifelong learning.
3. Learning to Live Together
- The development of social skills and values that enable
individuals and societies to live in peace and harmony.
- Respect and concerns for others, social and
interpersonal skills and appreciation of the diversity
among people.
4. Learning to Be
- Activities that promotes holistic personal development
(body, mind, and spirit), for an all-round 'complete
persons.
- It's about encouraging personal expression and
fostering personal discovery and creativity.
