Point of view is the


mode of narration
through which the
author chooses to
deliver the narrative. It
is like the way a story is
TYPES OF VIEWS
There are three main
types of point of view:

FIRST PERSON
point of view

is written from the


perspective of a character
who reveals his or her
own thoughts and feelings
in the narrative using
words like "I," "me," and
"my." Protagonist is the
narrator.
SECOND
PERSON
point of view

In this point of view, the


person speaking is
directly addressing the
readers using the
pronoun you. Protagonist
is the reader.
EXAMPL
E YOU OPEN THE DOOR AND STEP
OUTSIDE. THE SUN IS WARM ON YOUR
FACE, AND YOU FEEL THE SOFT
BREEZE IN YOUR HAIR. YOU TAKE A
DEEP BREATH AND SMILE. TODAY
FEELS LIKE A GOOD DAY, AND YOU
KNOW IT’S TIME TO START SOMETHING
NEW.
THIRD PERSON

This is when the story is told


from the perspective of
someone outside of the story,
using words like "he," "she," or
"they." It's like the narrator is
telling you what's happening in
the story, but they're not one
of the characters. Protagonist
