Introduction
A foot-over bridge or a pedestrian bridge is a
bridge designed for pedestrians.
There are 49 foot over – bridges in the DHAKA
NORTH city corporation.
Despite the presence of numerous foot over-
bridges, most of the pedestrians prefer to cross the
street rather using the foot over bridge.
For this reason, pedestrians become more vulnerable
and do faults when crossing the roads.
Therefore, in our research we are trying to discuss the
condition, safety,
& uses of Mirpur -1, Jamuna future park & Mirpur-10
foot over bridge.
Objective
To determine the pedestrian flow in different foot-
over bridges.
To determine the percentage of pedestrian
crossing the foot-over including age-based
behavior.
To determine the opinion of pedestrian on using
foot-over bridge instead of busy roadway.
To compare the pedestrian flow between different
foot-over bridges.

C Reason for not using the Mirpur-10 Foot-
Over Bridge
Result & Discussion
According to our research/data it has been seen that
Foot-Over Bridge is mostly used by male more than
female & child.
From the bar-chart for Mirpur-1, maximum
pedestrians are confess that they are not using the
Foot-Over Bridge for insufficient security.
According to the table it has been seen that Middle
Age Adult (31-59) people uses the Foot-Over Bridge
more than others.
From the pie-chart for Mirpur-10 most of people
are comfortable to use Zebra-Crossing not the Foot-
Over Bridge.
According to the Survey for Jamuna future park
foot over bridge is the most busiest than others.
Limitations
People don't commonly respond to questions,
which is a problem we encountered frequently.
We encountered numerous pedestrians and
hawkers while gathering data.
It was difficult to talk to people due to many
vehicles under the foot over bridge.
People were in a hurry and found it difficult
to cooperate with us.
Recommendation
Facilities of Foot-Over Bridge should be
increased like, Escalator.
CC-TV Camera.
Proper Lighting System.
Pedestrian securities should be increased.
Construct Foot-Over Bridges at necessary point like
Mirpur-1 Sony Hall Chatter.
Pedestrians should know the necessity of using
Foot-Over Bridge.
Government should take proper action for the
Hawkers & Beggars who lives on the Foot-Over
Bridge.
