This is the story of William Douglas and his
experience in oz'ercoming the trauma inflicted
onto him during his swimming lessons at the
YMCA. This story narrates to us his experience
of overcoming his phobia of deep water. The
author determined to conquer this fear, hired
a personal trainer who played a pivotal role in
his journey to overcome this fear. The trainer
u'as very patient with William and showed be-
lief in him . This story focuses on the author's
determination, commitment in overcoming
this fear and also his courage to overcome
this phobia. This lesson also shows the indom-
