Day 3
3. Wiki is an online application that allows
users to contribute to or edit its content.
Meaning “quick” in the Hawaiian language,
wiki is a creative and open environment
where everyone has a voice. The
significance of wiki lies in the fact that there
is no assigned “leader” or “head writer”.
The founder of wiki is Ward Cunningham.
Steps for creating a wiki using
Wikispaces:

1. Go to the Wikispaces home page.

2. Fill out the form that appears on
this page. In the space for creating a
name
for your space, I recommend you
create an initial page that is the
same as your
username (because then it's easy to
remember!). For example, if your
wikispaceusername is jdoe --> then
name your space jdoe (enter jdoe
the space name box).
This means that your first wiki name
will be jdoe.wikispaces.com
3. Write down your username name,
your password, and your space
name in a place where you won't
lose it (e.g. you can email it to
yourself -- and then save the email!)
4. Click the "join" button
5. Immediately your wiki is created and
is ready to use. Initially there is a
bunch
of stuff on your wiki, including
directions on how to get started,
information about your space (and
about how to change who can edit
pages), and a link to the help
documents. It's a good idea for you to
explore these options before you go
6. Once you are ready to add
your own content to your
wiki, click on the "edit this
page" tab. This opens an
editing window that looks
much like a word processor.
7. Highlight and then delete the
words, "Type in the content of your
new page
here." Then type your own heading
for your page. Since it's the page
heading, it's a good idea to select
"Heading 1" from the drop down
menu that is set at the default
"normal."
8. Hit return/enter, and add text to
the next line -- and keep going,
using the
tool bar to format your page
contents (see more detail below
under editing your wiki).
9. Once you are done, click on the
"Save" button and your page is
uploaded.
Arrange the basic steps in creating a
Twitter account. Write the numbers 1 to
5 in the space provided
Directions: Sequence the steps in accessing Gmail
and Facebook. and write
number 1-6 in the space provided
B. Steps in Accessing Facebook Group:

________ Your account will be created, and the
Facebook welcome page will
appear.

sidebar on Facebook. Write the
name of your group and add some people. Click
create.
________ Enter the code, confirmed account then
