Background of study
The profitability of maize production in Zamora, Tayug, Pangasinan is vital to the
economic stability of most of the local farmers. Although the municipality provides good
conditions for growing maize, the farmers encounter serious issues that impact their
income. Numerous factors contribute to the low price middlemen pay for the maize,
which directly affects farmers' income. One of the main causes of the low price of
purchase is limited access to means of transportation and equipment. Most small
farmers lack the machines and vehicles to harvest and transport their crops to markets.
