Can You Be a Storyteller and a
Teacher?

teacher knows that the best lesson plans

• Read Varied Stories: Explore different folktales, fables, and myths to
gather ideas.
• Observe Professionals: Watch skilled storytellers and note their
techniques.
• Engage Students: Use an interesting voice when reading to your
students,
• and encourage questions to make it interactive.
• Choose Simple Stories: Start with stories that have fewer
characters and repeating events, but pick ones you love.
• Write Stories Down: Jot down stories to help remember them and
show students how to write.
• Use a Reference: Keep the book nearby for help while telling the
story. It’s okay to refer to it if needed.
• Create a Prop Box: Fill a box with hats and other fun items to inspire
