 1939-41:worked as a naval offi cer ’1941-47 worked at Nissan
Liquid Fuel Company
 In 1947, become associate professor in university of Tokyo
 In 1949, Ishikawa joined the Japanese union of scienti sts and
engineers quality control research group
 His skill at mobilizing large groups of people towards a
specifi c common goal was largely responsible for Japan’s
quality improvement initi ati ves
 He translated, integrated and expanded the management
concepts of W. Edwards Deming and Joseph M Juran into the
Japanese system.
 His died on April 16,1989
