Orthographic
Drawing
Prepared by: Alexis Madrilejos
Class Schedule: 10:45 - 11:45
AM
Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be
able to;
1.Define Orthographic drawing and explain its
purpose.
2.Identify the different views in an orthographic
projection.
3. Create an orthographic drawing of a simple
object.
Pre Test
1.What is the main difference between isometric and orthographic
drawings?
a) Isometric shows multiple views, while orthographic shows only
one
b) Isometric is 2D, while orthographic is 3D
c) Isometric represents a 3D object in one view, while orthographic
shows multiple views
d) Orthographic uses shading, while isometric does not
2. In an orthographic drawing, which views are commonly used to
represent an object?
a) Front, top, and side
b) Top, bottom, and back
c) Left, right, and bottom
3. What is the standard angle used in isometric drawings for the
depth axis?
a) 30 degrees
b) 45 degrees
c) 60 degrees
d) 90 degrees
4. Which type of drawing is best for showing all dimensions and
details of an object accurately?
a) Isometric
b) Orthographic
c) Freehand sketching
d) Pictorial
5. What tool is most commonly used to maintain accuracy in
creating orthographic and isometric drawings?

Understanding
Perspective
What is Orthographic Drawing?
An orthographic drawing or orthographic
projection is a representation of a three-
dimensional-object using several two-
dimensional planes.
• It means we have different perspective
on an object or a picture. Different
people have different perspective
depending on the what they see and
where they are positioned.
• While isometric drawings show the entire
object in one view, meanwhile the
orthographic drawings break it down into
different views like front, top and side

Identification:
1.This is the type of drawing that respresents a 3d object using
multiple 2d views.
2.These are the 3 principal views used in an orthographic drawing.
3.These view shows the object seen from directly from above
4.This view provides the height and width of the object and is
usually the most detailed
5.This type of line is used to indicate hidden edges in an
orthographic view
Key to Correction:
1.Orthographic drawing
2.Front view, top view and right side view
3.Top view
4.Front view
5.Hidden line
