is a rule that relates values
from a set of values (Domain)
to a second set of values
(Range).

Evaluation of a Function
Evaluating a function, it means
that replacing the variable in
the function, in the case of
f(x), x will be replaced by a
value from the function’s
domain and compute for the
result.
To denote that we are
evaluating f at some value x in
the domain of f, we write f(x).
Example: Let f be a function
defined by f(x) = 5x – 3. Find the
following:
