- means a duly licensed enterprise authorized to
underwrite securities of another person or enterprise,
including securities of the government and its
instrumentalities.
Investment house law (Section 2 of Republic Act
No. 337)
- Any enterprise which engages in the underwriting of
securities of other corporations shall be considered an
"Investment House" and shall be subject to the provisions
of this Decree and of other pertinent laws.

Investment companies
A company that creates insurance products to take on
risks in return for the payment of premiums. Companies

• Its aim is to reduce financial uncertainty and make
accidental loss manageable. It does this substituting
payment of a small, known fee—an insurance premium
—to a professional insurer in exchange for the
assumption of the risk a large loss, and a promise to
pay in the event of such a loss.
