Plural Regular

Mountain ---Mountains
Add -es to nouns ending in -s, -ss, -sh -ch -x and
–z
Examples:
Bus – Buses
Dress – Dresses
Dish – Dishes
Box – Boxes
Some specific nouns ending in -o take -s
Examples:
Radio – Radios
Piano – Pianos
Some nouns, however, can end in both -s or -es.
Example:
Tomato -- Tomatoes
Hero --- Heroes
For nouns ending in -y and preceded by a vowel,
simply add -s
Examples:
Key -- Keys
Boy – Boys

Monkey ---Monkeys
For nouns ending in -y and preceded by a
consonant change -y to -i before adding -es

Examples:
Sky – Skies
Story – Stories
City -- Cities
For many nouns ending in -f and -fe change f to
v then add -es or -s

Life – Lives
Shelf – Shelves
Wife – Wives
Leaf -- Leaves
