What is sewing Machine folders
A sewing machine folder is an attachment that helps fold fabric edges precisely before
stitching, ensuring uniform hems or seams, commonly used in garment and textile production
for efficiency and accuracy.

Features of a Folder in the Apparel Industry

There are some basic features of a folder, these are-
1. It helps to improve the productivity.
2. Improve or maintain quality standards.
3. Reduce training time of operator.
4. Reduce fatigue of the operator.
Some of the Importance folders used in the garments industry.
1. Belt loop folder 2. Binding folder 3. Tape folder 4. Hemming folder 5. Collar setting folder 6.
Cuff setting folder 7. Waistband folder 8. Piping folder. etc
These are some types of folders used in the garment industry.
1.Hemming Folder. 2.Folder Sleeve Attaching.

3.Piping Folder . 4.Belt Loop Folder.

5.Bias Binding Folder . 6.Waist band.

What is a presser foot
A presser foot is an essential sewing machine attachment that presses down on the fabric,
holding it in place while sewing. It helps guide the fabric evenly, prevents shifting, and allows
for consistent stitch formation. Different types of presser feet are available for various sewing
techniques, such as zipper foot, buttonhole foot, and walking foot.
Different Types of Presser Foot
1. All-purpose foot 2. Satin foot

3. Zipper foot 4. Sew-easy foot

5. Adjustable zipper cording foot 6. Blind hem foot

7. Over edge foot 8. Button stitch foot

9. Darning embroidery foot 10. Even feed foot

11. Quarter inch foot 12. Open toe foot

• What is skipped stitch
• A skipped stitch is a common sewing or embroidery issue where the needle fails to catch the bobbin thread (in
machine sewing) or misses the fabric entirely (in hand stitching or embroidery). This results in gaps in the
stitching line, where one or more stitches are missing

• Causes of Skipped Stitches (Machine Sewing):

• 1. Blunt or damaged needle
• 2. Incorrect needle for the fabric
• 3. Improper threading of the machine
• 4. Bobbin not inserted correctly
• 5. Machine timing issue (needle and hook out of sync)
• 6. Incompatible thread/fabric combination
• Why is thread breaking?
• The upper thread tension could be set too tight. Set the tension to the best
thread tension setting or less. Make sure the spool of thread is installed correctly
using the correct size spool cap for the size of spool. Check that the bobbin is
wound so that it about 80% full and that the thread is evenly wound.
• Different causes for thread breakage:
• Improper threading.
• Incorrect or damaged needle.
• Bad thread.
• Old Thread.
• Upper tension is too tight.
• Bobbin tension is too tight.
• Burrs on the hook assembly.
• Burrs on the needle plate.
• What is poor tension in sewing machine?
• Poor thread tension on a machine-sewn seam can result in an unstable seam,
puckering, or just plain unattractive stitching. Perfect machine stitches interlock
smoothly and look the same on both sides of the fabric. The red stitching is the
upper thread; the black is the bobbin thread. The tension is balanced.
• Cause of poor tension in sewing machine
• When sewing fabrics together problems can occur when the thread tension is
not correct, the needle or bobbin is not inserted properly, or the machine is not
threaded correctly. Always place two layers of fabric together when producing a
sewing sample to check thread tension, needle type and stitch length.

• Concentrate. • Make Sure Your Pins and Needles Are Intact.
• Don't Sew over Pins. • Use the Right Machine. • Be Mindful of Electricity.
Sewing Machine Beds

A sewing machine bed is the flat surface of a sewing machine where the fabric
rests and is guided during sewing. It's the area around the needle and feed dogs
and is crucial for supporting the fabric as it's stitched.

• There are different types of sewing machine beds, such as:

• 1. Flat bed .
• 2. Free arm.
• 3. Cylinder bed.
• 4. Post bed.
•What is sewing machine motors?

•The operator can speed up the machine and slow it down according to the requirements of the precision of the seam
being sewn. Clutch Motors and Servo Motors are two prime options available to the Sewn Products industry to meet
their needs of powering the sewing machine.

•Types of sewing motor

•There are two types of sewing machine motor.
1. Servo motor.
2. Clutch motor.
