PRESENTATION PACKAGE
Presentation: This is the practices of
showing and explaining the content of a
topic to an audience or learners. It can also
be defined as the combination of slides,
handouts, notes and outlines all in one file
or topic.
Presentation Package: This is a computer
software or program that is designed to
display information in the form of a slide
show. It is also known as presentation
program or presentation graphic program.
USES OF PRESENTATION PACKAGES/MS POWER POINT

1. It is used for the preparation and presentation


of lectures, students reports, stories etc
2. It facilitates group activities such as group
editing, foreign language conversation, note
taking
3. It is used for interaction and engagement e.g.
holding students attention via use video and
music
4. It helps in group delivery with speakers
5. It is use for persuasion and advertisement.
Note: Slide can also be
called Foil. It is a page
of the presentation
package that contains
texts, graphics, movies
and other objects.

software. It is mainly used to
generate the presentation

Animation And Transition
Animation is the production of moving images by
using computer techniques on the image produced.
Animation controls how objects move onto, off of and
around the slide.
In power point, there are four major types of
animation. They are:
i. Entrance
ii. Emphasis: emphasis animation does something to
draw attention to an object; for example, the
object can become large.
iii. Exit
iv. Motion paths: A motion path determines how
objects move round the slide.
Transition is an effect that controls
how your presentation moves from
one slide to the next.

Precautions to take while
working on Presentation

1.Ensure that the slides are accurately timed
2.Save properly to avoid losing your work
3.Ensure your slides are attractive to capture
audience attention.
4.When audio is used, ensure that it goes
with the display of the menu or the slide
contents
5.Choose and use design that is suitable for
a particular presentation.
Steps for lauching /opening
Microsoft PowerPoint application
from the desktop
1. Double click on icon
OR
2. Right click on the icon, Select
open

Create A New Presentation


2. Click the File tab, and then click
Open A Presentation
1. Click the File tab, and then click Open.
2. Select the file that you want, and then
click Open.

To Save A Presentation
3. Click the File tab, and then click Save
As.
4. In the File name box, type a name for
your PowerPoint presentation, and
then click Save
To delete a slide from your
presentation,
1.On the View tab, in the Presentation
Views group, click Normal.
2.On the left pane that contains the
Outline and Slides tabs, click the
Slides tab, right-click the slide that
you want to delete, and then click
Delete Slide
Add slide numbers or notes page
numbers
1.On the View tab, in the Presentation
Views group, click Normal.
2.On the left of your screen, on the
pane that contains the Outline and
Slides tabs, click the Slides tab, and
then click the first slide thumbnail in
your presentation.
3.On the Insert tab, in the Text group,
click Slide Number.
