Scope and Delimitation of the Study
The study aims to develop interactive and engaging
computer-based learning materials for Grade 11 students at Ave
Maria College, focusing on English for Academic and
Professional Purposes course.
The study is limited to Ave Maria College for the academic
year 2023-2024 and does not include other schools or grade
levels. The researchers will not focus on the evaluation and
implementation of the learning materials but rather on their
development and design.

Theoretical Framework
The research study is anchored on the TPACK framework
developed by Punya Mishra and Matthew J. Koehler in 2006. This
framework focuses on technological, pedagogical, and content
knowledge (TK, PK, CK) and offers a valuable approach to address
challenges in integrating educational technology (EdTech) in
classrooms.

The researchers use the TPACK framework to integrate

technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge in computer-based
learning materials. This ensures well-rounded and effective materials
that enhance the learning experience.

Research Design

In this study, the researchers adopted an action research

approach, which prioritizes practical problem-solving and
immediate impact. The data for the study was gathered from
publicly available resources, including the EAPP Curriculum
Guide, course outline, and textbooks. By utilizing these
existing public resources, the researchers ensured a
comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and
incorporated relevant information into the development and
design of the materials.
Research Locale
The study aims to create computer-based learning
material on EAPP for Grade 11 students at Ave Maria
College, a private Catholic school situated in Vallesville-
Fatima, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.
Respondents of the Study

The target respondents of the study will be the senior

high school teacher at Ave Maria College who handled the
subject English for Academic and Professional Purposes,
and grade 11 students at the said school who have already
taken the subject.
Data Gathering Procedure
In this study, the researchers
.
obtained the curriculum guide
and textbooks for their study by utilizing both the Department
of Education and online resources. These materials serve as
valuable sources of information for their research on
curriculum development.
The researchers analyzed the curriculum guide and
textbooks to determine the content and subsequently
participated in the development of computer-based learning
materials.
Research Instruments
In this study, the instruments used include
documentary analysis of the English for Academic and
Professional Purposes Curriculum Guide and textbooks.
These instruments provide valuable information for the
development of computer-based learning materials for the
subject of English for Academic and Professional
Purposes (EAPP).
Validity and Reliability of Data
To ensure the validity and reliability of the research
instrument, several measures will be taken. The research
instruments undergo a content consultation review by
experts in the field to ensure that the content included will
be intended to be constructed accurately.
Statistical Treatment and Analysis

In this study, the researchers will not use any statistical tools
for gathering data as they have already collected relevant data
from the Department of Education. Instead, the researchers used
thematic coding and content analysis to identify stylistic
elements such as topics, ideas, patterns, multimedia elements,
and other interactive features that have been included
throughout the development of computer-based learning
materials.
