COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will prepare the student
midwife with knowledge and skills to
prepare patients for gynecological , ear,
eye, nose and throat examinations.
The student will demonstrate skills in
setting trays and trolleys for diagnostic and
therapeutic procedures, perform advanced
nursing procedures, administer intravenous
therapy and blood transfusion.

Additionally, the student will be equipped to
provide pre and post-operative care and
perform urethral catheterization correctly
Course objectives
By the end of the course, the student
will be able to;
1. Prepare patient for gynaecological

2. Prepare patient for eye, ear, nose and
