COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will prepare the student
midwife with knowledge and skills to
prepare patients for gynecological , ear,
eye, nose and throat examinations.
The student will demonstrate skills in
setting trays and trolleys for diagnostic and
therapeutic procedures, perform advanced
nursing procedures, administer intravenous
therapy and blood transfusion.

Additionally, the student will be equipped to


provide pre and post-operative care and
perform urethral catheterization correctly
Course objectives
By the end of the course, the student
will be able to;
1. Prepare patient for gynaecological

2. Prepare patient for eye, ear, nose and
throat examinations
