Lec 2 Circuit Theorems

The document discusses the linearity property in circuit theory, focusing on the relationship between cause and effect in circuit elements, specifically resistors. It defines a linear circuit as one where the output is directly proportional to its input. The content is limited to the application of this property to resistors for the purpose of the lecture.

CIRCUIT THEOREMS

LINEARITY PROPERTY
• Linearity is the property of an element
describing a linear relationship b/w cause
and effect. Although the property applies to
many circuit elements, we shall limit its
applicability to resistors in this lecture.
• A linear circuit is one whose output is linearly
related (or directly proportional) to its input.
