What is LOGO!
LOGO! is considered by SIEMENS as a
universal logic module.
Some people also call it a specific purpose or
compact PLC.

The most important work of this PLC is the automation of
electromechanical systems operating in separate
elements:
 Contactors
 Electric magnetic timers and etc.
It is a modification and modernization.

LOGO!
Modules
Logo! Modules are used to create universal programmable
modules and create initial controls of automatic management.
There are certain limits on the modules used.

All modules are equipped with 8 inputs and 4


discrete outputs. Depending on the modification,
the module supply voltage can be 12 VDC, 24
VDC, 115 VDC, 230 VAC, 24 Vac, 115 VAC or 230
VAC.
The output cascades of the modules are performed on
the basis of transistor switches or gerkon relays
Logo! The screen and keyboard are used in both programming
and operating phase.

The main indicators:
 8 discrete access and 4 discrete access;
 30 internal functions grouped in logical libraries;
 Logical (GF) and Special (SF) functions;
 8 internal flags
 Internal calendar and real-time clock (Ideabogo! 24)
 Built-in liquid crystal display (ing. LCD) and keyboard
 Installation of the memory module or joining the PC
programming interface using a cable
 Up to 24 expandable digital access, 8 analog access, 16
discrete access.

LOGO! 8 offers its customers the possibility of being able to
remotely monitor all equipment connected to the production
process controlled by this LOGO! This allows production
planning and the creation of maintenance actions by
technicians.

There are 2 main types of these


devices:

1. SIEMENS LOGO! V8 Basic module


with display.
2. SIEMENS LOGO! V8 Basic module
without display.

 It has an interface for the connection of expansion modules.

Supports up to
 24 DI - Digital Inputs, 20 DO -Digital Outputs
 8 AI - Analog Inputs , 8 AO - Analog Outputs expansion
modules

 It has an integrated web server.

 Ethernet physical communication interface.

 Standard micro CF card slot.


Configuration selection and selection
features
These differences are determined by the number of modules
productivity, memory capacity, number of software blocks, number
of program flags and structures of devices.
Logo! PLC modules can be connected to expanding modules (digital
/ analog modules and network interface modules) that are
equipped with an expansion interface.
Expanding modules:
 DM, discrete modules
 AM, analog signal modules
 CM, network interfaces (Asi, EIB / KNX) modules
 Dedicated display of TD, HMI interface
Digital inputs/outputs
modules
There are 2 versions of discret signals and 2 versions of
access modules:
 LOGO! DM8 with 4 digital access and 4 digital
output
 LOGO! DM16 with 8 digital access and 8 digital
outputs

Analog inputs/outputs
modules
In this case, the following signal levels are possible:
 0-10v
 0-20 ma
 4-20 ma

The used signal type for each channel can be


selected through the LSC (Logo Soft Comfort)
program or from the central module menu.
