•The Bicol Region (Region V) in the Philippines is
known for its rich cultural heritage and diverse art
forms.

•Bicol Region is also one of the 17 regions of the


Philippines. Bicol (also spelled BIKOL) it is
composed of four provinces in the Bikol Peninsula,
the southernastern end of Luzon Island, and two

DANCE IN ALBAY
Pantomina • Pantomina also known as "The Dance of the
Doves"

• One of the most famous traditional dances in


Albay, especially performed during the "Magayon
Festival". The Pantomina mimics the courtship
between doves and is often also a courtship
dance between the couples that perform it.

• The dance is characterized by flirtatious


movements and colorful costumes, reflecting
local customs and festivities.
MUSIC IN ALBAY
Sarung Banggi Sarung Banggi is a well-known Bicolano
folk song, meaning "One Evening",
composed by Potenciano Gregorio. It
tells the story of a romantic encounter
between a lovestruck man and a
beautiful woman during one evening.
The song is also associated with a
traditional Filipino folk dance and is
celebrated annually during the Sarung
Banggi Festival in Albay.
