INTRODUCTION
The study is about the self-efficacy and self-regulation skills of the students in
science learning along with the relationship between the self-efficacy and self-
regulation. There is not enough study that covers the self-efficacy of students in
science learning along with the self-regulation and also the relationship between
self-efficacy and self-regulation. This study aims to determine the relationship
between science learning self-efficacy and self-regulation of the senior high school
students at UCC.

METHODS
1. The study applied the descriptive-correlational design, and purposive and simple
random sampling in choosing the participants for the study
2. Self Efficacy Scale towards Science and Technology developed by Tatar et. al (2009) and
Self-regulation Skills for Science Learning used by Tortop (2015) were adapted by the
researchers as the data gathering tools for the study.
3. The questionnaires were validated and during data gathering permission and consent
letters were prepared. The data confidentiality and anonymity were emphasized
through the letters.
4. Statistical tools, mean scores and Pearson r correlation was used to describe and
analyze the data gathered.

RESULTS
In self-efficacy the students got the highest in confidence in science abilities and
self-regulation with the highest in motivational skills indicating that the students
were confident enough in their science abilities and is motivated to learn more in
science. The study found that there is a significant relationship between self-
efficacy and self-regulation in science learning.

DISCUSSIONS
The senior high school students self-efficacy have a significant
connection on their self-regulation and that senior high school
students showed considerable skills in overcoming challenges and
difficulties in learning science. The study recommends a skill
development program specifically for self-efficacy and self-
regulation that will enhance the skills of the students in science
learning as well as greatly improve their skills in self-efficacy and
self-regulation.
