Yahya Aziz Seminar

The study investigates the integrated management of phosphorus, organic matter, and biofertilizers to improve maize growth and yield in Pakistan, addressing issues of poor soil fertility and high production costs. It aims to evaluate the effectiveness of various combinations of phosphorus management and biofertilizers on maize productivity. The research will be conducted at the Agronomy Research Farm using a randomized complete block design with multiple treatment levels.

INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT OF PHOSPHORUS,

ORGANIC AND BIOFERTILIZERS ON GROWTH

AND YIELD OF MAIZE

DEPARTMENT OF AGRONOMY
FACULTY OF CROP PRODUCTION SCIENCES
THE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, PESHAWAR
KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA-PAKISTAN
PROBLEM STATMENTS
Maize productivity in Pakistan is constrained by poor soil
fertility and inefficient nutrient use, especially phosphorus. Over
use of chemical fertilizers depletes soil health and increases
production costs. Integrated use of phosphorus, organic matter
and biofertilizers offers a sustainable solution, yet limited
research exists on their combined impact on maize growth and
yield under local conditions. This study aims to evaluate the
effectiveness of integrated nutrient management to enhance
maize productivity in a sustainable manner.
OBJECTIVES

• To study the effect of integrated organic and inorganic phosphorus

management and organic manures on maize growth and yield.
• To study the effect of biofertilizers levels on maize growth and yield.
• To study the interactive effect of organic + inorganic phosphorus, and
biofertilzers levels on maize growth and yield.
