Save Tiger

The tiger is the largest of the big cats, native to Asia, and an apex predator. They have distinctive dark vertical stripes and can grow up to 3 meters long. Tiger populations have drastically declined from around 100,000 to less than 2,500 today, with 3 subspecies now extinct. Habitat loss as forests are cleared and retaliation by villagers whose livestock is preyed on by tigers have reduced tiger numbers. Poaching for the illegal wildlife trade also threatens tigers, as their bones, claws and other body parts are used in traditional medicines. Conservation efforts aim to create awareness, stop poaching, protect forests, support conservation organizations, and educate local communities on the importance of tiger conservation.
