Basic

Configuration of
Infinity 5000
Series (XSTIM)

Installation
STEP ONE: Attach the phone stand
If installing the phone on the wall, then the phone stand
becomes the wall mount and should be installed on the
wall first
STEP TWO: Connect the handset and
optional headset
TEP THREE: Connect to the network and power
The Infinity 5008 phone is PoE enabled. The power
adapter is extra and not included.
Optionally connect computer to the PC port
TEP ONE: Access the 5008 phone menu
Connect the PoE enabled 5008 phone to the network and power up the
phone.
The next step is to access the phone's configuration menu (
XSTIM - Phone Menu). There are 3 methods:
Method 1 - During bootup
1.Observe the phone's bootup process and wait for the E-MetroTel logo.
2.When you see the E-MetroTel logo displayed on the LCD screen, you have 5 seconds
to press the 4 softkeys from left to right in sequence. ((located just under the LCD
screen)
3.When prompted for the password, enter the default password admin (2-3-6-444-
66) or 363870835 (press 2nd softkey to change input mode to 123) followed by
the Enter softkey.
Method 2 - Unconfigured phone
This method is applicable only when the server information on the

phone is empty. This would typically apply to a brand new phone.

1.When the phone has completed its bootup process and the server

information is empty, you will see the following message on the

Method 3: Hold button
This method can be used anytime when the phone is in the idle state.

1.Double press the Hold button and you are prompted for the password.

The Hold button is located below the orange Release button.

2.When prompted for the password, enter the

default password admin (2-3-6-444-66) or 363870835 (press 2nd

softkey to change input mode to 123) followed by the Enter softkey.


STEP TWO: Configure Server Info
Once you have successfully entered the phone menu, you can now
proceed with the following.

IP Address
To obtain the IP address of the phone, proceed to the STATUS submenu.
Here you can discover information related to the phone like: Phone model, IP
address, MAC address, Firmware loads etc.

Take note of the IP address as you will


need the IP address to access the
phone's web interface.
Server Info
Navigate to the SERVER submenu. Configure the following:
•S1 IP = IP address of the UCX Server (default is 192.168.1.200)
•S1 Port = Port number for XSTIM phones (default is 7000)
Press the Save button and exit the phone menu. The phone will now
connect to the configured UCX Server.
STEP THREE: Assign XSTIM Extension
Once the phone is connected to the UCX Server, the following screen is
displayed. You can now configure the extension or hotdesk to an
extension.
Adding an XSTIM Extension
To configure an extension for an XSTIM phone, perform the following
steps:
1.Open the UCX Web-based Configuration Utility
2.From the PBX tab, select PBX Configuration
3.From the left side
In the drop-down listcolumn, select
box, select theExtensions
device type XSTIM Device and press
the Submit button.
Basic Extension Information
Under Add Extension, enter the following key fields:
•User Extension - this is the extension number to dial to reach the user
•Display Name - the CallerID name to be displayed for calls from this
user
Extension Options
Fields in this section can be left unchanged to use the system defaults.
Device Options
If the phone has been properly configured to connect to your
UCX system, the MAC address should be presented on the phone
display. Press the Select button beside the MAC Address field and then
select the phone from the drop-down list box that shows all
unregistered phones.
Press the Submit button to create the XSTIM extension.
After the extension has been created, you can select the
extension again to edit the rest of fields now available
under Device Options
