On the Run (Draft 2)
- 1. FADE IN: EXT. CHERRYHINTON HALL – NIGHT We reveal an area of Cherry Hinton Hall with tall and slightly overgrown trees near the children’s playground. We then see ADAM and ROSS running with worried faces. A sound of a heartbeat is heard. ADAM looks back before both jumps over a log and hide behind hill. Heart beat stops. ADAM (slightly out of breath) Did you think we got away? ROSS (also out of breath) I think so(beat) just. ADAM Still got the money? ROSS I wasn’t carrying it. ADAM Mike, you got the money? (beat)Mike? ROSS (sarcastically) What a surprise! ADAM (surprised) What? ROSS (angry) Mayhem Mike goes missing again! ADAM He’s not missing. ROSS Well (beat) then he got caught by the cops. ADAM (slightly worried) Don’t say that. He’s probably hiding or something. ROSS (annoyed) Or lost! Let’s just make a run for it.
- 2. ADAM No (beat) he’s fine. 2. Ext. The other side of Cherry Hinton Hall-Night Heartbeat starts again. We see MIKE carrying a rucksack and runningtoward the hill where ADAM and ROSS are hiding but MIKE doesn’t know. He keeps on running and didn’t notice the log and falls down. A sound of a record stopping is heard drowning the heartbeat. MIKE recovers and run towards the hill. A hand grabs him. MIKE (scared) Holy shit! (beat) Adam? ADAM Yea, it’s me. MIKE (relieved) Phew. You scared me,mate. Thought you were the cops. ROSS (angry) Where have you been?! MIKE I was trying to find you guys. But then I got lost… ROSS Told you! He’s an idiot. MIKE (angry) Well (beat) you’re a plonk... ADAM Thats not the point. We have to find a way out of this. MIKE We could just make a run for it. ROSS (annoyed) Well done, genius! What do you think we’ve been doing? ADAM (angry) Stop acting like children!
- 3. MIKE He started it! MIKE points to ROSS. ADAM How did we get in this situation? FADE TO BLACK
