I lead the data science research team at Blackboard; seeking out new insights into student success using the data generated through use of academic technologies. Get to work every day on interesting questions with really smart people and large data sets; what's not to like! My work includes both fundamental research into underlying relationships and specific product functionality that we build into products. Underlying my day-to-day activities is a commitment to improve the success of students, especially those from underserved and socially marginalized communities. I'm grateful to have found a career doing things that excite me and make a contribution to society.
