He completed three Fellowship Programmes: Monbushou (Japan, 1998–2000), Fulbright–Humphrey (Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA, 2008–2009), and King’s College Hospital (London, 2010–2012). His research interests are focused on biliary surgery, acute care surgery, trauma, epidemiology and global health. A bibliography of his publications includes 188-refereed articles, 62 abstracts, three monographs, two doctoral dissertations, two book chapters, and one edited book, by 1st May 2020. He is a member of the UK Trauma and Research Network (TARN) Board from 2020.
