103 Order of Operations Lesson

This lesson reviews order of operations and teaches students how to properly enter expressions into calculators to perform calculations according to order of operations. The lesson defines exponents and reviews that calculations should be done from innermost parentheses out, then exponents, then multiplication and division from left to right, followed by addition and subtraction from left to right. Students are warned to use parentheses liberally in the calculator to represent all bracket types seen in written equations.
