This document defines and describes nine different forms of government: democracy, where power comes from the people; oligarchy, ruled by a small elite group; monarchy, ruled by a king or queen who may have absolute or constitutional power; dictatorship, where one unelected leader has complete control; communism, with collectively owned property and labor; republic, where citizens govern through elected representatives; theocracy, ruled by religious leaders; constitutional monarchy, where a monarch's power is determined by laws; and tyranny, where a single person takes control against the community's wishes.
