• The people who would use this app would be suffering
from an allergy which stops them from eating certain
foods.
• In the settings menu you will select your allergy and then
type in the name of the product or scan the barcode and
it will tell you whether or not you can eat it based on the
allergy you have selected.
• This app will be used when you are in the shop and you
see a product you want to buy and you want to quickly
check whether or not you can eat it without having to
read all the product info on the back or in case it doesn’t
have any info about allergies.
Products don’t usually contain all the necessary info to
know whether or not you can eat it because of your allergy
and it can be dangerous and even fatal if you eat
something you are seriously allergic to. The Allergy app
solves this problem by quickly telling you whether or not
you can eat the product based on your allergy and the
information in the app’s database.
How can we reduce the time parents with children who
have allergies have to spend trying to find food their
children can eat?
“It Would Really save time”- Liz O. :local mother
My team, MFDF is developing an android app
to help people with allergies Find food that they can eat
Our app is aimed at mothers with children who have
allergies who do not have the time to check every product’s
ingredients for allergens.
Competitors include:
Find Me Gluten Free-avg rating 4.5 stars
This doesn’t solve the problem as it is aimed at only one
type of allergy.
Our apps core feature is the barcode scanner. This is a camera that
cross references barcodes in the image taken with our apps database
of products. When people viewed our mockup for this screen they
found it user friendly and simple
Main Menu Barcode scanner
or search
Settings You can eat this
You can’t eat this
This is My Group’s apps home screen.
It is a simple menu where you touch a
button and
It takes you to that screen
This is the barcode scanner
screen. It shows you where to
place the barcode and how to
scan the products
This is the search screen of our
app. It allows you to search for
products that don’t have a
barcode
This is the settings screen for
our app. It allows you to add
and remove allergies that you
have/don’t have
This would be the screen that
shows that you can eat this
product
This would be the screen that
shows that you can not eat
this product
[Feasibility]
[Data, content, technical]
Our app will be free because it is for good and we do not want to
limit it to people who are willing to pay.
We haven’t got any pledges.
Our marketing strategy is small banner adverts in other apps
like flappy bird.
Another one is to use a social media page to supply
information and our final one is to use social media adverts

Editor's Notes

  • #3: What is the background situation you are addressing? Describe the context users are experiencing.Example: Buzzer Buddiez: Who? Students What? Students are studying for exams When? 7am Where? Student dorm Why? Late night cramming, student likely to oversleep
  • #4: What specific problem do people encounter in that situation? Use the results from your user researchExamples: Buzzer Buddiez: your alarm does not work and you are thus late for: school, work, exams, doctor etc Transit: Many parents don’t speak English and their children have to translate the feedback that a teacher provides. When the feedback is negative students mistranslate. Oyster on the Go: You don’t remember how much money you have left on your pay-as-you-go Oyster card and run out of credit when you urgently need to get on a train Cattle Manager: You need to run backwards and forwards between the office and your cows, taking notes on paper and wasting time or loosing notes
  • #5: What core question are you addressing with the app? Examples: Buzzer Buddiez: how can you avoid oversleeping? Transit: how can negative teacher feedback be translated accurately? Oyster on the Go: how can you be more aware of how much credit you still have on your Oyster card? Cattle Manager: how can you keep track of injections for your cows while you are out and about looking after them?
  • #7: To introduce the judges to your team and the product, include your final min elevator pitch here.Example: - Buzzer Buddiez: Our team, [Buzzer Buddiez], is developing [a mobile app] to help [students] [who have studied late and are likely to oversleep because they hit snooze on their alarm clock] [to wake up on time with the help from friends and family]
  • #9: Summarise what other solutions or alternatives you have found that already exist in the market and explain why they don’t fully solve the problem you are looking at or why your proposed solution is better.
  • #11: Show here what your MVP will look like in terms of flow and if/ how you have already integrated any user feedback.
  • #12: Show here what your MVP will look like in terms of the key wireframes of your app’score feature.
  • #13: Show here what your MVP will look like in terms of the key wireframes of your app’score feature.
  • #14: Show here what your MVP will look like in terms of the key wireframes of your app’score feature.
  • #15: Summarise what you have learnt about data, content and technical feasibility. This is crucial, if your product relies heavily on any of these areas. If your product does not rely on them heavily, please explain why. This will show that your team has really understood feasibility well.
