 What is AutoCAD ?
 2D and 3D Modelling Software
 Developed by Autodesk Company.
 The first version of AutoCAD was R1 after that R2,
R3……and so on.
 In 2000, Autodesk launched a version of AutoCAD 2000
after that 2001,2002,….so on.
 This time, we have the latest version of AutoCAD and
that is………………

ABOUT
DEMAND OF AUTO CAD SOFTWARE IN MARKET
Auto Cad is the most popular software with the
highest overall job market demand.
 To work in a Industry, the person need a strong
Foundation in Auto Cad.
 Auto Cad is commercial software for 2D and 3D computer
aided design .
 Auto Cad was first released in 1982.
 Auto Cad is used across wide range of industries by
architects, project managers, engineers, graphic designers and
other professionals.

ABOUT
 The AutoCAD world is 3 dimensional.
 WCS (World Coordinate System) is the imaginary
plane that is parallel to the ground. It is the by default
coordinate system.
 UCS (User Coordinate System) is the plane that you
work on. It enables the user to draw 3D objects.
 To create new UCS, type ucs on command window,
then say New and specify 3 points on your new UCS
plane.
WCS and UCS
 Computer
 Software
 These components together make up a system
referred to as CAD.
The Tools of CAD
 CAD is extremely powerful.
 Because of its speed, power, accuracy and
flexibility it has surpassed manual drafting.
CAD Power
CAD does have limitations:
 CAD files are only electrical impulses
 Computers cause repetitive strain injury.

2D DESINING
Draft designs more quickly without using stencils and technical
drawing instruments.
 Develop site plans, refine concepts, sketch technical drawings
and share your ideas.
 Customize templates and more precisely.
 Collaborate with colleagues and clients using other compatible
data files when using genuine DWG. file format to collaborate
with clients and associates.
 The AutoCAD graphics window is similar to any other
window within the Windows operating system.
 Maximize and minimize buttons
 Close buttons, in the upper right corner
 Window sizing operations are done as with any other
window.
 AutoCAD uses the Windows Guidelines for appearance:
 Buttons, pull-down menus, and dialog boxes.

MODIFY TOOL BAR
 The modify tools (from left to right):
Erase, Copy, Mirror, Offset, Array, Move,
Rotate, Scale, Stretch, Lengthen, Trim,
Extend, Break at point, Break, Chamfer,
Fillet, Explode
 Mirror - The mirror command will create a mirror image of any
selected drawing elements along any line of symmetry specified by
the user.
Mirror
 Offset will make a copy of a line or series of selected lines by
a specified distance in the direction specified.
Offset
 The array command quickly creates copies of a selected
object(s) to a specified spacing..
 Rectangular Array Polar Array

 GRID
 ORTHO
 POLAR
 OSNAP
COMMAND TOOL BAR
 Command tool bar is used for activating all the
commands which are used in Auto Cad by typing.
 It is also the easiest way to give the command
to the command bar and also to activate it.

3D BASIC MODELLING
 3D Modeling is a process of developing
mathematical representation of any three dimensional
surface.
 3D Models represent a 3D object using a
collection of points in 3D space joined by various
geometric entities such as lines, triangles, curved
surfaces etc.
 3D Models are used anywhere in 3D graphics
